Feature 06 / FF Zeus
Run thesession live
A shared footer, FPS and status rates, Alt look orders, volunteer bodies and read-only screen previews — all authorized on the server and cleaned up when curator access ends.
Live commands
Illustrative console. Footer fields are registered where their value lives.
Footer
The state of the session, one line.
Fields are registered on the machine that owns their value. A server field is broadcast to every Zeus; a local field is shown only to that viewer and replaces a server field with the same ID.
["supplies", "Supplies", { missionNamespace getVariable ["supplies", 0] }, 2, "server"]
call FF_zeus_fnc_registerZeusFooterStatus;
Each entry keeps its update code, interval and next due time, so a mission can publish state without starting another loop. Labels, names and values are escaped before structured-text rendering, so mission text cannot break the layout.
People
Let a player wear an AI body.
| Phase | Server behaviour |
|---|---|
| Offer | Reserve participant and AI, issue a session identifier, start the timeout |
| Accept | Save the original body's damage permission, move control, start the panel |
| Session | END switches bodies, DELETE finishes; identifiers block stale replies |
| Release | Restore damage permission, free the AI, clear UI and key handlers |
| Failure | Disconnect, body death or unexpected replacement releases automatically |
Disabled by default. Disabling the setting releases active sessions and removes actions, handlers and UI.
Eyes on the ground
Preview a screen without walking there.
Power
screenPreviewSyncPower attaches a read-only preview to a replicated power site.
Solar
screenPreviewSyncSolar follows voltage dials and active-low flags.
Terminal / briefing
screenPreviewSyncTerminal requests a private snapshot;
screenPreviewSyncBriefing sends slide controls to a briefing screen.
Preview callbacks receive [browser, id, mode] and may only read state. Nothing a preview
renders is accepted back as input, and the curator's own UI is never hidden.
Authority
Convenience without a back door.
- Look orders are validated against the requesting curator and forwarded to the owner, which calls
doWatch. - Maintenance targets need curator or configured-admin permission — except that a viewer may maintain its own body.
- Temporary curator access creates or releases only curators owned by the service, and removes them after a disconnect.
- Screen previews close when curator access ends.
Everything here is opt-in. The footer works in vanilla Zeus; ZEN adds the panels but is not required.
